Badminton Courts

Are you ready for playing badminton? How about cricket? We are prearing 2 tournament size badminton court, a cricket pitch and a basketball hoop.

A number of people had showed interest for playing badminton at BAC. They had donated over $200.00 already and using that money enough land for two side by side court has been roughly developed. The project needs to be completed before a tournament can be played there.

The Director of Sports of Bangladesh Association has taken the lead in promoting this tournament and posters has been posted already. Therefore the courts need to be prepared as soon as possible.

Location of the badminton court will be next to the existing BAC office along the east property line. The courts will be side by side and it will be oriented as east-west so that the audiences can watch the games fro the verandah of the existing BAC office. Electricity will be needed to play at night; therefore keeping the courts near the office is also needed for that purpose.

The cost of the playing the game will be paid by the players and they will also share the utility bills along with PaathShala.

The only cost for the badminton court is the site preparation.

Children Playground

Having a safe children playground in BAC does not require any justification. BAC is for the children lot more than it is for the adults. Children come to BAC to play with their friends and enjoy. Currently the environment is not safe for them to run around and play. Therefore a designated playground area very much needed.

It is very encouraging that children are raising funds for their own playground and so far they have raised more than $150.00. A Bangladeshi band also pledged that they will perform for free if the raised fund goes to playground and school. One patron has also pledged that he will pursue a company to donate the equipments for the playground.

Following information will be useful for planning for the playground:

1. Location: The playground will be located along the east side between the badminton court and the vegetable garden.
2. Dimension: Suggested dimension of the playground including the perimeter edge is 100'X50'.
3. Maximum of 35-40 children can play at once.
4. Age group of children will be 3-12 years.
