The Problem
Maximum Permissible Limit (MPL) for arsenic in drinking water is 10 µg/L (ppb), set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and USA. At this time, millions of people in Bangladesh are drinking water that contains over 50ppb of arsenic!

It is quite absurd to find people thinking that arsenic has been a major problem only for the rural people. Concerned scientists and environmentalists are having great difficulties in pressing forward arsenic poisoning as an urgent matter to the unaffected public and to the political leaderships. It appears that arsenic poisoning is overlooked if not denied by them. As a result, ground water arsenic contamination has been the primary cause for many arsenical skin diseases such as various forms of melanosis (pigmentation), keratosis (hardening), gangrene and cancer, and arsenic poisoning has truly become a “silent killer” for thousands of people.
The Solution
One of the solution is the “SONO Filter” which was recently awarded the prestigious Grainger Award by the National Academy of Engineering. This filter unit was developed by a team of researchers from George Mason University, USA and Sono/MSUK of Kushtia, Bangladesh. This water purification process uses two plastic buckets with sand, composite iron matrix and brick chips at the top bucket, and sand, wood charcoal and brick chips at the bottom bucket. Water is poured on the top bucket and can be collected from the outlets of the bottom bucket at 20 to 30 liters per hour.

Each unit is guaranteed to work for at least 5 years. The purified water contains less than 10 ppb arsenic.
How to help
You can help by purchasing a SONO filter for only $40.00! One filter will provide Arsenic free water for a family of 4 up to 5 years! Can you believe that? Yes it is true and tested.
